Do you think there will be any WW2 veterans alive in 10 years?

Sure. People born in 1931 -- some of them could be 100 years old, and could have been among the unfortunate kids drafted by the Nazis as cannon fodder near the end of the war.

Yes.  An 18 year old born in 1927 could have fought in 1945. They would be 94 this year and 104 in ten years.  There are a number of men and women who are alive and older than 104 today.

There will probably be a few still living. As of 2020, there were 325,574 according to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Possibly, but very, very few.  To have served in WWII, you need to have been born about 1925, or earlier.  They would be over 100 in 10 years.

Assuming some were 16 in 1939 and lied about their age and claimed to be 18 there might be a few WW 2 vets alive in 2031.

Yeah, the last WWI vet "only" died just under ten years ago which is pretty mind blowing.  A lot of those vets were a special brand of stubborn that kept them alive and then they just kept going and going, and then kept going some more.  Quite a few lived to be over 100.  So, while I don't think that there will be many WWII vets around I do think there will be a few.

Probably yes. the youngest of them would "only" be around 100 then... so there would be a few left for sure. almost certainly the last ww2 vets will be german since even 14 and 15 year olds had to fight in the last weeks and months of the war.
